Mexico is beautiful and this resort is ok if you want to save money.
The resort is close to the shopping Avenue in Playa. It is close to the reef (by boat) and has it's own dive shop. The water in back of this resort is very clear.
The food was just average. The beds were very hard. I was under the impression that the reef came up to the resort and there would be good snorkelling. It did not. Although the water was clear, there was very little marine life to be seen. There is free boat parking in the water behind the enclosed (very small) swimming area. The boats block the view. I also don't like to be bugged about time shares and they do that quite frequently at the Reef resort. The grounds are not as nice as other resorts- no major landscaping, thick foliage, or flowers. I did not care for the stinky fish smell at the resort. It seemed to be all over Playa Del Carmen this time and I do not remember it smelling so bad during past visits. There is not much to do at this resort.

Very Good
Best location in Playa del Carmen for a family of four. It’s not too big, and it has everything. Good food, nice drinks, beautiful pool, and most of the staff are very friendly. There are better ‘all inclusives’ but not for this price.
